If you have recently discovered the BCP Hub in Warners Bay, welcome.
We are so glad you’re here.
BCP Hub stands for Babies, Children and Parents Hub — a space designed to support families through every stage of childhood and parenthood. From pregnancy and newborn days to the busy years of childhood, our goal is simple: to create a place where families feel supported, informed and connected.
But behind every space like this is a story.
This is ours.
Meet the Founder – Ilana Lawrence
Hello, I’m Ilana Lawrence, the founder of BCP Hub and also the creator of The Sick Sense Baby and Child First Aid Workshops.

I’m a Paediatric Nurse Consultant with this year being my 15th year in working with children and families, including in one of the largest children’s hospitals and emergency departments in New South Wales.
Throughout my career I’ve worked across many advanced paediatric roles including clinical nurse specialist positions, clinical nurse consultant roles and academic teaching.
My work has always centred around one thing: supporting families to feel confident caring for their children.
In hospitals, I saw how frightening it can be when a child becomes unwell or injured. I also saw how powerful knowledge can be when parents understand what is happening and what to do.
That experience led me to create The Sick Sense, a unique education program teaching baby and child first aid, illness recognition and emergency response in a way that is practical, evidence-based and empowering.
But over time, something else became clear.
Families needed more than just one workshop.
They needed a village.
The Vision Behind the BCP Hub
The idea for the BCP Hub was born from years of working with families and hearing the same challenges again and again:
Parents feeling overwhelmed navigating services
Families travelling to multiple locations for support
New parents feeling isolated
Children needing coordinated care from multiple professionals
I imagined a space where families could access trusted services under one roof.
A place where health professionals, educators and family support services could work collaboratively to support children and their parents.
A place where people felt welcome the moment they walked through the door.
So the Babies, Children and Parents Hub was created.
BCP Hub is designed to be a one-stop space for families, bringing together services such as:
Paediatric allied health practitioners
Parenting and education workshops
First aid and safety training
Pregnancy and postpartum support
Child development services
Community events and family education
The goal is simple: make support easier to access and less overwhelming for families.
A Hub Built with Heart

BCP Hub is more than just a building.
It represents a dream, a vision, lots of planning and hard work.
It was also built during one of the most difficult periods of my life.
In 2024, my husband Nathan was diagnosed with metastatic bowel cancer. During that time we navigated hospital admissions, treatments and surgeries while raising our two young daughters.
Despite the challenges, the vision for the Hub remained strong.
The BCP Hub came to life in 2025 the same year my husband sadly passed away.
Nathan believed deeply in what this space could become. More importantly he believed and never doubted my vision. He helped bring many parts of the Hub to life that I did not see myself— from design ideas to the custom features that now sit within the space.
Creating the Hub during such a difficult time taught me something important:
Community matters.
Support matters.
And families deserve spaces where they feel seen, supported and understood.
BCP Hub is a reflection of that belief.
Our Ethos: It Takes a Village
At the heart of BCP Hub is a simple philosophy:
Families thrive when they are supported by a village.
We believe in:
Empowering parents with knowledge
Supporting children’s health and development
Supporting parents in their own wellbeing so they can be the best versions of themselves
Creating safe, welcoming spaces for families
Encouraging collaboration between professionals
Building a strong local community around families
BCP Hub exists to bring these things together.
Whether you’re attending a workshop, seeing a practitioner, joining a class or simply walking through the doors for the first time — you are part of this community.
